The Golden Cross of the Civil Order of the Social Solidarity awarded to Juan De Dios Ramírez-Heredia

At the 16 of January Official State Bulletin (BOE), it was published the Order ESD/3961/2008 according to which the Golden Cross of the Civil Order of the Social Solidarity will be awarded to Mr Juan de Dios Ramírez Heredia.

The Minister of Education, Social Politics and Sports, Mrs Mercedes Cabrera Calvo-Sotelo, at the proposal of the Secretary of State for Social Politics, Families and Attention to Dependence and Incapacity, will award him this prize in recognition of his fight against discrimination of the gipsy people as well as the defence of their rights in all the spheres of public life.

Shortly, in a date to still be determined, Her Majesty the Queen, in a solemn ceremony that will take place at the Zarzuela’s Palace, will grant this award to Juan de Dios Ramírez Heredia, among other prize-winners.
