The date chosen to celebrate the Ceremony of the River is 8th April, which coincides with the celebration of the Gypsy World Day. The first Gypsy World Congress was held in London on this date, but in 1971, and it meant the revival of the international Gypsy movement, which became visible to the public opinion.
